Human Concerns Commission

The Human Concerns Commission, inspired by Gospel values and the Corporal Works of Mercy, discerns and responds to serve people who are in need within our community, nation and world. The members collaborate with the pastor, staff, and other organizations and agencies in service, advocacy, justice education, and empowerment of people. We respond to this calling on behalf of our fellow parish members to promote social justice utilizing our Catholic faith values with due diligence and transparency.

Family Promise

Family Promise of Waukesha County assists homeless families by offering housing and meals as well as training to find employment and handling finances and family issues — all in an effort to support these families to become self-sustaining and live in their own home. St. Jerome Parish is a “supporting” parish for this program on a rotating basis with other area churches. Our parish provides meals as well as volunteers who serve dinner, spend time with families in the evening, and assist with set-up and take-down for our scheduled “host weeks”.

Due to Covid, the Family Promise program has temporarily moved to a different model of housing families in apartments instead of the rotational model of in-person meals and housing at area churches.

We are in need of a contact person for this ministry. Please contact the Parish Office, or 262-569-3020, if you are interested in more information.
