Human Concerns Committee
The Human Concerns Committee develops programs and resources to meet human needs in the parish and community. It seeks to raise consciousness on issues in relation to justice and peace.
Coordinates the Evening Prayer of Remembrance in November and maintains contact with bereaved families.
Meets the first Monday of each month in the School Conference Room. Assists workers in finding employment or employers in finding workers.
Coordinates monthly donations of food and money for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.
Funeral Luncheons and Receptions
Provides a luncheon or refreshments following a funeral. Volunteers prepare and serve food as requested.
Christmas outreach program which provides families and individuals in the Lake Country area with personal Christmas gifts and benefits inner-city educational programs.
Jingle Bell Dinner
FREE Christmas Day dinner for anyone (families included) who might be alone or in need of a meal on this holiday. Food donated and prepared by volunteers from St. Jerome.
Meals on Wheels
Volunteers transport hot meals to senior citizens from either the Oconomowoc Recreation Center or Shorehaven.
Sponsors the annual Baby Bottle Collection in October -- Respect Life Month -- as well as the Mother's Day flower sale and parish baby shower each Spring to benefit crisis pregnancy centers. Also provides pro-life information and materials as requested. Keeps the parish current on pro-life issues and activities via the church bulletin board.
Parish volunteers conduct and assist Shorehaven residents in playing Bingo on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Shorehaven Health Center
Volunteers assist residents to attend weekly morning Mass.
Adult Learning Center (Milwaukee)
Volunteer tutors help inner-city adults learn to read on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
Assists people in need of food, clothing, and financial aid. Helps assemble and distribute lunches in Waukesha.
St. Vincent Meal Program
Assists in providing dinner every month for 250-300 people at a Milwaukee inner-city site. Food is collected and prepared at St. Jerome kitchen. The group carpools to the city at 3:45 p.m. to deliver and serve the meal and returns by 7:30 p.m.
WINGS (Women IN God's Spirit)
A women's ministry group which offers an opportunity for socializing and spiritual growth through planned gatherings and speakers.
